I just re-read this posting. Glad I did so. I didn’t know you & I got into the Great Books around the same period. You beat me by a few years, but I’m getting close to two decades myself as well.
I love how amateurs and laymen are rescuing the great works of western civ from academics who are driven by every idea other than authorial intent. Keep up the good work.

Honestly, I thought you introduced me to the GB! You told me about Mortimer Adler and “How to Read a Book.” That’s what did it for me. 😊
I also love Adler’s essays against the educational establishment. He can be brutal with the truth about teacher colleges.
